Finally, we're off to the Olympics. It's been 30 Months in the planning. With various logistical obstacles to overcome, we are off. With event tickets, ferry and plane tickets in the safe of the hired motorhome we set off on our drive to Greece.
The first ferry trip is the Dover to Calais that we are familiar with. From Dover we head along the E42, E17 and E31. The planned stop is Dijon but we are going well so keep on going until it getting dark and then pull in to the service area of the paege.
We wake up to be greeted by the sound of donkeys!
As we have done so well, we thought that we try a bit of sight-seeing in Geneva. Unfortunately, everything is closed, so we continue on our way.
We cross the border having gone through the Mont Blanc tunnel.
We stop at @@ and have an Italian ice-cream. It's massive, but very delicious
By late afternoon, Julie realises that we are near Lake Gardia, so we drive down to the lake and (eventually) find a campsite for an overnight stop over. The girls are pleased to streatch their legs and take a dip in the pool.
